Humanlike Motion Planning

چکیده
The problem of planning humanlike motions is difficult to define, to model and to solve. It is however a problem that will grow in importance as humanoid assistants and autonomous virtual characters become essential in many applications. In this abstract we propose simple definitions to model basic aspects of the problem and summarize algorithms based on multi-modality and search spaces defined from example motions.

Robot motion planning for the humanoid robot HOAP-3
In the field of robotics there is a great interest in developing strategies and algorithms to reproduce humanlike behavior. Programming a humanoid robot to walk is a challenging problem. Traditional approaches rely heavily on prior knowledge of the robot’s physical parameters to devise sophisticated control algorithms for generating a stable gait. We present two approaches to solve the motion p...
متن کاملDeriving Humanlike Arm Hand System Poses
Robots are rapidly becoming part of our lives, coexisting, interacting, and collaborating with humans in dynamic and unstructured environments. Mapping of human to robot motion has become increasingly important, as human demonstrations are employed in order to “teach” robots how to execute tasks both efficiently and anthropomorphically. Previous mapping approaches utilized complex analytical or...
متن کاملA Simple Experiment on the Effect of Biasing Sampling Distributions for Planning Reaching Motions with RRTs
This paper reports experiments performed with a simple sampling cache mechanism used to bias the configuration sampling of a RRT-based motion planner. The Planner is used for synthesizing reaching motions for a humanlike character performing object relocation tasks in a virtual environment. Experiments are reported showing that the method can significantly reduce the computational time required...
متن کاملGlobal Planning for Dexterous Reorientation of Rigid Objects: Finger Tracking with Rolling and Sliding
We address global motion planning for quasi-static reorientation of convex objects (polyhedral and smooth objects) with a four-fingertip grasp. We make use of a simple humanlike manipulation strategy in which a single finger is moved at each instant while the other three are maintained fixed (with regard to the palm)—an extended version of the original finger-tracking scheme of Rus. This new ve...
متن کاملA Motion Planning Framework for Skill Coordination and Learning
Coordinated whole-body motions are key for achieving the full potential of humanoids performing tasks in human environments and in cooperation with humans. We present a multi-skill motion planning and learning framework which is able to address several complex whole-body coordinations and as well detection and imitation of motion constraints. The framework is composed of three main parts: first...
